AFCB must think positive for Goodison trip

The Cherries will take on Everton knowing that it only takes one game to turn around your fortunes and they must go into this game feeling confident that they will perform at their best. The points and the performance will come if the Cherries can get back to enjoying their football and set themselves objectives to win the small battles.
Everyone needs to pull together now.
It's not that easy to change a mindset, but when there is a losing mentality there has to be some new direction given and AFCB need to find stepping stones that will put them on a better course right now. The table may look more perilous than it was before the Palace match, but it's all about the next match now and adding to the points total. It may be that the Cherries are coming to terms with a season that has not quite met the expectations that they feel they deserve, but the players can only talk about being in the top half of the table when they establish themselves there and at the moment the side is well short of that.

Goodison Park though is a fresh start. The Toffees are in good form at home and a tough task like this is probably better for the Cherries to take on now than the kind of pressures that were put on them when playing teams in the bottom three. It shouldn't be that way, but the players are only human as Eddie Howe says. It's going to be another match where the Cherries are the underdogs and that is where AFCB can feel comfortable.

It may be that Everton find a top six place beyond them this season, but they are a club that has shown that a clear and precise passing game can work well in this league. Koemann has given them a strong foundation in organisation and they have leaders like Ashley Williams and Leighton Baines - senior players with immense experience - that is now combined with the youthful talent of Tom Davies who has been amazing in recent games.

But this is where AFCB's players have to rely on each other to do their jobs well and to come away from Goodison with something no pundits would expect. We have seen too many sleepy performances of late and three points now would encourage fans to look back up the table.

Possible AFCB team:
4-2-3-1-1 Boruc (GK), A Smith (RB), Francis (CD), S Cook (CD), B Smith  (LB), Ibe (RW), Arter (CM), Wilshere (CM), Pugh (LW), King (FW), Afobe (FW)
