What have WBA got to trouble AFCB?

Tony Pulis' decision whether to stay at the Midlands club is an indication that he thinks there is enough talent at the Hawthorns to stay up for another season in he Premier League. While Albion fans may not all be fully behind his tactics, he gets enough results during a season to usually steer clear of trouble, but the recruitment has not been as easy for Pulis this season and perhaps AFCB can put WBA under more pressure.
WBA last season at Dean Court - not much will have changed.
While WBA broke their record signing by picking up Nacer Chadli from Spurs for £13m, Welsh forward Hal Robson-Kanu and Matt Philips from QPR. There has not been that wow-factor to get the fans overly excited about having a better season than normal. Other signings have included Allan Nyom from Watford and Brendan Galloway from Everton on loan, but Tony Pulis will be relying on many of the players that have kept the Baggies up in the past to pick the points up again.

The noise of discontent though have been muted so far with WBA having already collected four points from their three games. An opening day away win at Crystal Palace was followed by a narrow home defeat to Everton and an away point at newly-promoted Middlesbrough.

Saido Berahino will be the match winner that will be the player that AFCB will not want to give a sight of goal to. What AFCB can't afford is to let Albion get a goal head-start. They close out games all to well and that is a talent in itself. If AFCB had done that at the London stadium and at Selhurst Parks they would have had six points now and not just one. AFCB have to be respectful of what WBA are capable of - they can upset the best. But at the same time this is not a game to sit back and hope that something falls the Cherries way. The fans want to see a competent performance and a win. AFCB have to shake off this second season syndrome tag which is starting to feel like it could stick. A bright and energetic performance with controlled but persistent pressure on the WBA goal is what the Cherries need and for one or two players it has to be getting near time for changes to be made if they can't pick up the points. Let's roar the side on today and get back that winning feeling. UTCIAD!

  1. I have seen the line up and yet again it proves it's harder to lose your place in this team than to get a chance to play....I an not interested in the result..bether we lose..we now have eight players signed and yet one just one starts. ..players should be brought in to improve the first team and not the squad..I feel so sorry for ake.cook mousse. ...afObe ..Wilshere will not get game time fit or otherwise ...he is not one of our managers favourites. .so a few minutes against Preston. ..is he so immune from criticism that he does what he likes...

    1. I normally agree with your sentiment Alan but I have to disagree today. By taking a few games to solidify the 11 he's showing players they actually have to earn their place. The alternate is he gets players replacing last season's players with no drive playing worse. Then you can't put the original back in since they'll be worse too.

I'm just disappointed with Cook over Gosling for the first game then never playing him again. What a way to show him a taste of first team with no intentions of keeping him there.
