The new Artur Boruc is fantastic

Artur Boruc is pulling all the stops out at the moment for AFCB. I don't know what he did to refresh himself over the summer but he has come back leaner, fitter and a much more alert keeper. It is fantastic for the Cherries as they really needed the keepers to set themselves at a higher level this season and Artur is raising the bar and that will encourage Federici and Allsop to do the same.
Artur Boruc warms with Neil Moss up before taking on Crystal Palace.
I am in no doubt that the game against Crystal Palace is the best we have seen him in a Bournemouth shirt. Perhaps he likes the colour orange as he made sure his jersey got a good work out at Selhurst Park. The penalty save was fantastic in itself and that raised great cheers from the supporters but some of the other saves that he made from Lee Chung-Yong and Scott Dann were also incredible and he even looked sure-footed with his feet when making clearances.

It was the save that Artur made just after the penalty that really stood out for me. When Andros Townsend came back on his left foot and swung in his shot come cross it took everyone by surprise, but Artur stepped back really quickly and kept his eyes on the ball to use his left hand to palm it out of harm's way. It was sensational and looked a goal from all angles, but Artur did magnificently. It must be among his top five saves he has ever made!

Saving penalties is one thing that can be studied but to pull saves out when you are off balance and are unsure of how close you are to the goal structure, when tipping backwards, is quite something else.

Artur Boruc was also an unused sub on Sunday in Poland's 2-2 draw away in Kazakhstan in their Group E World Cup Qualifier.
