Daniels: how did he score from there?

I had almost resigned my thinking to believing that the game against Newcastle would end 1-2 even with four minutes of added time. Charlie Daniels had a few other ideas though. When Charlie goes on a run you pay attention and for this goal it was a good job I looked up in time.
Charlie find the bottom corner.
I don't expect Steve McClaren will have been that impressed with the amount of non-existent challenges to Daniels as he set off on his little jaunt across St James' Park, but when the ground opens up in front of a player how often do you see them get carried away? Charlie stays very focussed and I think that is one aspect of his game that has seen him do so well this season. He did not need to look for options on this occasion and simply got his head down. The finish was pinpoint accurate and Charlie celebrated in characteristic style with a karate kick on the corner flag before waiting nonchalantly for his team-mates to arrive, like what else did you expect but for the ball to find the back of the net? It was an impressive strike and certainly shocked Eddie Howe.

"I was great to see him score," said Eddie. "I was questioning whether he should shoot from that angle with the time left n the clock, but I was delighted to see it hit the back of the net."

Charlie will no doubt be pleased that he has scored again after not scoring against Everton in the FA Cup at Dean Court. But that doesn't matter now. I ran a quick twitter pole before the game on who should take AFCB's penalty if they had been awarded one at Newcastle and while Afobe was the preferred choice with 49%, there was a 41% vote for Charlie which kind of tells me that Charlie is still well backed to take the spot kicks if AFCB get one.

He certainly banished the Everton memory with a vital goal this time. It secured all three points for the Cherries and he may even now have one eye on closing up on the AFCB goal scoring chart as he is only a couple behind now.
