Big home win for the Cherries is very satisfying for Eddie

Eddie Howe insisted that it was not the complete performance against Norwich City but it was certainly pleasing to see after what had happened in midweek. The Cherries' home games have been a bit hit and miss, but every player was up for the game against Norwich and managed to keep the ball. The balance of the side was good and the optimism was back.

The manager commented that the Norwich result was "a big step forward." He was definitely after a performance after the defeat against West Ham when he was not happy with the manner of the defeat. But he was full of praise for his players after the way they set about Norwich City right from the start of the game.
Eddie Howe may not look at the league table often
but he knows his side is improving all the time.
"True character from the players," he said. "They respond as they do and put it right."

"It was a big day for us today and it sets us up for another big one against Sunderland," added Eddie Howe.

That is the task now to try and put back to back performances together. Going away to Sunderland will be a difficult fixture as they themselves will be looking to bounce back after their defeat at Spurs. But AFCB will concentrate on their own performance and while Eddie will be enthused to see the Cherries working hard to beat a team that was just above them in the league the impact of that win will not be as significant if AFCB drop points up at Sunderland.

Luckily there did not appear to be any fresh injuries to the players. Benik Afobe took a heavy knock in the first half from Declan Rudd, but still lasted for 84 minutes and Eddie Howe did not look to make early subs in the game as the players were managing the game well enough and have a week to recover before going to the Stadium of Light.
