Pugh was much too good for Boro

It was certainly Marc Pugh's day on Saturday. The Bournemouth winger is already a club legend in my eyes and sometimes we don't really recognise just how good he has become while applying his trade at the Cherries under our noses. He always likes to thrill and when he is in top gear he has a kind of elegance to his game that just makes you hope that the team keep giving him the ball.
Pugh makes his 250th appearance for AFCB against Middlesbrough.
While the Marc Pugh chop was enough to see off a poor Boro side at Dean Court, and no doubt consign them to Championship football next season, there was a real air of majestic quality about the ease at which Pugh stole in from the left side, and picked out the bottom right corner of the goal. He raised his arm in a salute that kind of confirmed his own joy at knowing that he was going to score when presented with such an opportunity in front of the home fans.

The supporting calls of 'Pugh!' are a noise that Eddie Howe probably appreciates more than the songs of any other player at Dean Court, as Marc Pugh has been the long servant of the club from the playing side and is just getting better at his craft since reaching the Premier League. If Eddie could clone Marc Pugh I'm sure he would as Pugh is just as good at getting back to defend as well. It was indeed Pugh that was in the thick of the action in defending when Gaston Ramirez made his rash challenge on Marc to get himself sent off.

We won't see another Marc Pugh though at Dean Court. He is something special and I just love watching him play as many games as he can. Saturday took him to 250 matches and he has netted 45 goals in that time. Some how I see that he will add a fair few goals to his total in the next few seasons and will continue to be a big crowd favourite at what has become his home on the south coast.
