Wednesday's away record has been holding them back

Just a quick look at Sheffield Wednesday's last few away results gives cause for optimism for a Bournemouth fan. Of their last five away games they have only managed a point when they had been 1-3 up at Forest and saw their advantage dwindle away to nothing at all. Among those set of results was a 2-0 defeat at Yeovil Town which kind of puts into perspective the Cherries draw at Huish Park. We may have been disappointed at the time to only get a draw at Yeovil, but it was still an away point and it was the performance as a whole that was more of a worry for me.

Sheffield though have been struggling on the road and it is important that AFCB get out of the blocks early again like they did against Leeds and Birmingham. The last draw that Wednesday had against Blackburn proves that they can fight back from going behind when they have good home support but away from home they have not found that as easy to do.

AFCB need to get the three points if they are realistically to have any chance of mounting a late charge into those top six place and an early goal will settle the crowd. But how do you play it when you are likely to see an opposition side in front of you with no need to go all out for a win? AFCB could well find that they have the proverbial bus in front of them for this game and yet the Cherries are in real need of boosting their goal difference. A positive result will give the Cherries a very good feeling going into the Ipswich match and I think the Portman Road game will be pivotal now to what the team achieves this season. UTCIAD!
